  • 96+ stang with a 5.0 carb motor....how does it pass state

    was thinking of what i can do with this 96 mustang i got in my driveway......wanted to put a 5.0 motor in it.....but how does it get inspected once it all done?

    ive seen a few of these swaps around dallas and just wondering what needs to be done to make it work

          It will never pass legal sniffer inspection in DFW until it is 25 years old.

                        it can't be that hard to find a 4.6 that you'd decide to settle on a 3.8.

                          Why bother? Woohoo, 180 RWHP!!!11 Even if he went with a PI motor it would be better just to go buy a 99-04 GT for 4k than do an engine swap in a 96.

                            If they ever plan to sell it, that's why to bother.
                            As it is, it's probably not worth more than what could be used to start a junk yard fire anyways.

                              well i would like the 50 swap because i would enjoy the car more...but need it to state legal.....plus i can get a used 3.8 for like $250 and get this car moving again.
