  • Superbikes of Dallas

pulled the cover off of the front sprocket and after cleaning it up I discovered a patch of jb weld on the lower case by the water pump. Turns out the previous owner threw a chain and broke the case. Hence the oil leak. The dealer I bought it from conveniently left that part out. God @#!*% .

Owner of superbikes assured me that the bike was fixed and had no problems. He ran me through there 100 point inspections and said if the bike has any of these issues it is fixed before sale.

EDIT: The owner has done his best to make it right. Eventhough there is no warranty he has offered to cover the cost of labor if I were to buy a motor from the shop ($500)

Maybe if it will weld up. Pulling the motor isn't gonna be cheap at all.

First thing I would do, is approach the dealer about it in a nice way. Give him a chance to be helpful. If he's not, I would make the dealers life miserable. It might not help, but it would make me feel better.

I've been out of the "game" for a while, but aren't crank cases like $70? It would have been cake to swap out on my yamaha

they did say it was fixed, and was a solid bike with no issues. I don't doubt they were the ones that jb welded it . Correction it was sold as "rebuilt"

IIRC didn't you say that they told you it was totaled due to the plastics?

Not that it matters much but I've been told by a former employee of High 5 cycles that they do shit like that ALL the damn time.
