      I assume it doesn't matter that I have no experience in any of these positions?

        I think only the payroll clerk, and crossing guard are the only positions that you can get away with no exp.

          POSITION: Systems Engineer
          Job Posting #:160105-0046-01A
          REPORTS TO: Director of Technology Operations
          LOCATION: Samuel- Training and Technology Center
          Salary Range: $62,427.98 - $76,130.36 (Commensurate w/Education and Experience)

          Position Requirements:

          • Bachelor's degree or extensive working experience in a server-related field
          • 5+ years Microsoft Server configuration work, including Windows Server 2003 and 2008.
          • Various certifications such as MCDBA, MCSD, MCSA, etc.
          • At least three years system administration and/or Help Desk experience
          • Experience working with servers in a large organization, or as a consultant
          • Knowledge of configuration, maintenance, and support of Intel based Windows systems
          • Knowledge of backup and restore procedures, troubleshooting issues, and checking of daily logs
          • Knowledge of server implementation, maintenance, support and troubleshooting skills
          • Knowledge of company supported hardware, software and operating systems to include configuration and connectivity
          • Experience with infrastructure environments (e.g. operating system, hardware, data center, security, network, voice, end user and server / web related applications)
          • Experience with MS 2003 Server, MS Server 2008, MS SQL Server, MS Exchange Server Basic skills in scripting and / or programming language including, but not limited to, Perl, JavaScript, PHP
          • Broad knowledge of various operating systems (Microsoft, Linux, Apple, Novell)
          • Broad knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
          • Experience in supporting HP and Dell servers (20 - 55 server environment)
          • Experience with VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V
          • Microsoft SQL server administration experience
          • Network management/monitoring experience
          • Ability to analyze and resolve computer hardware and software problems
          • Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot systems
          • Ability to detect, diagnose and resolve problems quickly
          • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
          • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with all levels of personnel
          • Ability to document environment for different levels of technical readers

          Primary Purpose:
          Responsible for the implementation and coordination of technology initiatives of the Technology and Information Systems Department. Coordinate the marketing, design, testing, and analysis of software, and provide application documentation, analysis, testing and training to DCS and outside district staff members.
          Qualifications:

          Education/Certification:
          Bachelor’s degree or extensive working experience in a server-related field
          Valid Texas teaching certificate not required but a plus
          Technology and Transportation certifications not required but a plus





          Experience/Special Knowledge & Skills:
          • Effective communications, public relations and interpersonal skills
          • Superior computer skills; knowledge of Windows and Office Suite
          • Must maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License
          • Strong knowledge of transportation programs such as PowerFleet and Trapeze
          • Diverse knowledge on data and processes across various district units
          • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with all levels of personnel
          • Strong experience in application testing on scenarios, workflows, reports and ease of use
          • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
          • Ability to detect, analyze root cause and resolve problems
          • Focus and attention to detail
          • Ability to work under pressure and achieve objectives within deadlines.
