Ask him to show you his original orders. He'll get mail in the barracks too so he should be able to provide mail that's marked with unit and state with his name on it.

I've sold to military I usually just ask to see their ID if I don't know them from work.

Very true, I misunderstood your prior post and thought you'd ONLY sell with those two.

Stop by the office and see if he is there/if others will validate he works out of that office.

That's easy enough he'll have a stack of business cards a mile high with the stations address and his name on them. If its really worrying you swing by the office he'll be in uniform of he's there.
