  • PS3 controller difference

recently purchased a PS3 and I'm quickly learning that I'm not that electronics savvy. the bundle I purchased came with a controller that is "sixaxis" and "dualshock." I'm shopping around and everything I come across is either "sixaxis" or "dualshock" but not both. can someone explain what each of these markings mean and if I should even be concerned?

    TIA

No need to worry. The controller labeled dualshock is in fact both dualshock and sixaxis.

Yep - I just looked on my controller(sony replacement) and it's labeled both DS and 6A. The original was only six axis as I recall. I never use the six axis function though.

dual shock is just the vibration when you get hit in the game.

six axis is a gyro in the controller that(in some games) allows you to move the character/steer by tilting the controller.
