Seems like win 10 is a disaster for Nvidia users. Win 10 has been beta test for a year now and we are getting close to release and its shaping up to be much more buggy than when win 8 came out.

It may be smart to wait for 10.1....

It's probably nvidia's fault again. They did the exact same thing with the windows 7 release. The OS came out, and nvidia had all kinds of problems with their drivers. I remember people having bluescreens and big problems for months until they fixed their drivers.

Off topic a bit, I used to follow PC hardware - but can't afford the time to do so these days. Are Nvidia and ATI still the 2 go to manufacturers and are they still basically neck and neck on their hardware? In the past, when buying - one may outshine another based on budget vs performance...etc - I recall neither destroying the other in the market though. Still basically like that?

I am on a fresh install of the technical preview, and I got alert to upgrade. I thought the insider pro people were getting it for free. I have a windows 7 ultimate key, and its not taking it. I downloaded the windows 10 pro N .iso.

I like nvidia paired with Intel. Nvidia drivers are getting bad. I frequent their forums and its a shit show now. Nvidia is still the winner but they have their finger in soo many pies that drivers for multiple OS with their constant flurry of card releases have really gone to shit.

AMD cpus are generations behind Intel.

AMD gpus are just under par. They are cheaper though and usually only perform 5-10% less than nvidia if you do your homework.

Compare the R9 furyX to a 980ti example or r380x vs gtx 980. Just about the same.

Good thing about AMD is that they only make gpus and cpus and not like nvidia trying to make spaceships and self driving cars while GPU owners get neglected.

No clear winner at this point for me besides always have an Intel for a CPU.

I run an amd cpu for gaming, there's no difference in framerate between the two that I've seen.

A coworker installed, and then immediately removed it from one of his computers last night. He said it makes it impossible to watch online porn. Something about having to buy codec licenses to make embedded video players work. lol

Yes not knocking them. It's like 3-5% difference between fx8350 and 3770k/4770k. I had my fx8350 to 5.5 Ghz @1.5v lol. As far as physics scores and benching my 4770k would score the same at stock clocks as the 8350 would overclocked at 5.5.

Took the 4770k to 4.5@1.2v and it was leagues beyond the fx. Just my 2cents. That's why there are zero AMD cpus in top benchmarks. I think my old fx was one of the very few to make top 100.

In gaming not much difference at all just power hungry and more heat.

I won't even try win 10 until some ultimate bad ass game comes out for dx12 and I see it is working. Win 8.1 is doing great. I believe that there will still be AAA dx11 games for awhile to come before they figure dx12 out.

In fact the win 10 nvidia update causes alot of games to max vram lol. Just something after something. I think they'll get it, like I said win 10.1..

Well, everybody's been wondering how MS will make money giving Win 10 away for free. Looks like they'll nickel and dime you on codecs, apps, etc.
