Audio Ads on the board?

Guess I've been noticing it for a while but I finally narrowed it down to me having this problem with the board. Doesn't happen on the main part of the forum but when I'm looking at a particular thread (or starting my own) I will hear an audio ad playing. It's separate from the ad at the bottom of the page but it's definitely playing while I'm on DFW Stangs as I will either close the tab or go back to the previous page and it stops playing. Can't say it's occurring on all my computers as I'm mostly just on the one (work laptop) with audio on but it's getting really annoying. Anybody else getting this?

Actually I guess I can. I have it installed on my home computer but figured I wouldn't be able to install it on my work laptop. Guess we'll see.

That adblock plus is fucking AWESOME. It blocks everything. It even works for Pandora ads.

AdBlock is a resource hog, uBlock is much better.

The only problem I have with ABP is there "initiative" with/for "responsible" advertising. Outside of that, if it's a resource hog, you need to move outta your old ass hardware.

AdBlock uses a regex style engine to filter content on sites, the more things that they add to the list the slower pages will load regardless of your hardware. You cant increase single thread processing to go any faster then whatever the max speed of a single core is, AdBlock requires more ram and CPU to process pages which nets you a slower browsing experience, its pretty well documented.

I'm not trying to be a know it all prick, this is the shit i do for a living, technically the opposite, I work for ad delivery.

bookface seems much faster... I don't use it a ton, partly because it's slow as fugk on my computer, which I attributed to adblock having to block so much chit.

I dont mind the site making ad revenue. But I hate the intrusive ones that have pop ups, auto play videos, and audio.

Can you guys tell if they are at the top or bottom of the page? These fucking ad companies are shady as hell, I think tapatalk is also to blame, when I hit the site on my phone, 1 out of 20 times or so it opens the app store and trys to get me to buy an app, some bullshit. Google adsense is legit but they booted us, it's bing and yahoo now, and they are not on the up and up.
