Default Gall Bladder....

Any of you all had it removed?

I just went under last Monday and had it removed and sold on black market.....hahah
Had digestive issues, so they did some images and low and behold, gall stones.

All is healing pretty good. Still trying to get accustomed to the eating and stuff. Been trying to somewhat better for awhile.

Any of you all back to eating normal, or has it changed the way you eat and how much?

Had mine removed in March after 3 ER visits, family dr, and one specialist. Last ER visit finally figured out wtf it was.

The first 2 weeks out of the hospital I ate almost exclusively soup/salads nothing with tomatoes or spicy.

After several months am mostly back to normal, do pop some antacids before pizza or hot sauce more so as a precaution at this point. Pizza is what put me in the hospital to start the whole thing.

My FIL had his removed, his experience is same as Labora.

I thought I was the only person tore up by pizza especially pepperoni. I can eat hot peppers in eggs, on other foods in fresh tacos, but too much dough, sugar or pepperoni and my body gets pissed. The older I get the more I can tell processed foods are bad.

yea, I ate same thing about 1st 3 days. Soup/salad, then about the 4th day, I started to eat small turkey sammich for few days. Still eating soup/salad for dinner. Moved up to a small baked potato. 2 days ago, I ate 1st good meal at Razzos for lunch with my son, and felt pretty good rest of day. Wasn't really hungry much after that. Not eating as much as before. Been making fresh shakes everyday to help. I did just eat pizza, and so far so good..hahah Ate a few slices but that was it.

Labora,

About how long it take for wounds to heal and somewhat get back to normal stuff around the house/cars.

Eat some hot peppers to test it.

You have no idea how hard it is to not eat salsa/jalepenos. Will give it a bit before I start back. Won't go crazy on it...hahaha

My mom had hers out. She still got some phantom pains after eating anything greasy for a few months after, but she's completely normal now.

They removed mine about 5 years ago. Started with constant indigestion, pain, cramping and finally a couple ER trips, like Labora, until they figured it out. No stones, just stopped working ( probably due to Trich and MEK poisoning ). Aside from really greasy/heavy oiled food, no problems with any other types of food. I had a co-worker that suffered from the runs for about 6months before things finally calmed down for him.

My dad had his taken out decades ago. I only heard stories but if I remember correctly it ruptured and almost killed him. He had a gnarly scar across his gut. But his diet was normal afterward with no issues.

I would still feel full when I go to bed, and that's after I ate an early evening dinner. Would get reflux when I lay down to sleep. Felt bloated. Was happening almost every other day. Couldn't sleep. So went to talk to doc and told him that and scheduled endoscopy and had images done in midsection. Few days later got a call saying they see gall stones. He did the ENDO about a week later and didn't see anything inflammed or anything, so he was certain it was due to stones. So went to that specialist and he confirmed.

I sleep on my stomach and it took at good 3 weeks for me to get back to normal sleep position. I was extra careful with the lifting but after 4 weeks was back to normal.

I ate less food for awhile, lost some weight but am mostly back to normal now.

I had some indigestion troubles afterward especially with greasy food. Doc put me on bile salts for about 6 months after surgery and it helped till my body adjusted to not having a gall bladder.
