    I figured you guys would like this. I quite enjoyed it, and learned a lot while reading through it. I won't post the actual pictures, as they are far too large, but here is a list of what's in the links:

    I always thought the Mosin was used by USSR?

                    Regarding the Enfield Mk1 No4... "The No.4 was produced in Britain, Canada, and even the United States. These US rifles were marked “U.S. PROPERTY” in order to fit the Lend Lease agreement. They were not, however, used by the United States government or soldiers."

                    What?? Really? Kinda disappointed in my 1942. Then who used it? Everyone else?

                    I have been told mine has been "sporterized", but I was never clear what this means. Can anyone tell me?

                      Sporterized refers to the barrel and or stock being chopped down. Lots of common surplus rifles such as mosin's, enfield's, and 1903's were sporterized by hu ters as they were cheap guns that fired a decwnt size round. A non sporterized enfield will have a stock that goes all the way to the end of the barrel.

                          It goes pretty far down there, it doesn't touch the tip of the barrel but technically speaking none of them do.
