Hmm, not sure about this one....
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

Not sure what exactly they were arresting the guy for, but once the dog was out of the car and moving towards them aggressively, I cannot fault them for shooting it. Shitty situation but I would probably have done the same thing as the cop.

About the fact that they arrested a citizen for not breaking the law? Or about the fact that they arrested him before having him secure his dog?

Errr... missed the part where he put the dog in the car. Still, how about taking him out of the handcuffs that he has no place of being in and letting him secure the dog before hauling him off the jail for the night?

The guy was running his mouth hard to the cops. Couldn't hear him in the video but the guy video taping it was commenting on it. I would assume that's why the put him in cuffs. It looks like they tried to kick the dog away and the dog jumped to bite so it got shot. Can't see where the cop was left with much choice.

For some reason people who like to video police HATE getting photographed. The best thing to do is start snapping pics, or turn an in-car video camera on them and 9 times out of 10 they will leave. No need to get confrontational.
