  • Trump plans to ban transgender in military

President Donald Trump says he will bar transgender individuals from serving "in any capacity" in the U.S. armed forces.

President Donald Trump is barring transgender people from serving in the military “in any capacity,” citing “tremendous medical costs and disruption.”

Trump’s announcement Wednesday morning on Twitter did not say what would happen to transgender people already in the military.

The president tweeted that after consulting with “Generals and military experts,” the government “will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military.”

“Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail,” he added.

Already, there are as many as 250 service members in the process of transitioning to their preferred genders or who have been approved to formally change gender within the Pentagon’s personnel system, according to several defense officials.

The Pentagon has refused to release any data on the number of transgender troops currently serving. A RAND study found that there are between 2,500 and 7,000 transgender service members in the active duty military, and another 1,500 to 4,000 in the reserves.

Transgender service members have been able to serve openly in the military since last year, when former Defense Secretary Ash Carter ended the ban. Since Oct. 1, transgender troops have been able to receive medical care and start formally changing their gender identifications in the Pentagon’s personnel system.

But Carter also gave the services until July 1 to develop policies to allow people already identifying as transgender to newly join the military, if they meet physical, medical and other standards, and have been stable in their identified genders for 18 months. Military chiefs recently announced a delay on allowing transgender people from enlisting.

Key concerns include whether currently enlisted troops have had medical or other issues that cause delays or problems with their ability to deploy or meet physical or other standards for their jobs. Military leaders also wanted to review how transgender troops are treated, if they’re discriminated against or if they have had disciplinary problems, the officials said. They were not authorized to discuss internal deliberations publicly so spoke on condition of anonymity.

I don't care what anyone else says, you're either a man or a woman, that's it. Men do men shit, women do women shit...each gender has a role to fill, that's why both sexes compliment each other.

Ya, now they are parading around this supposed Navy Seal who is now transgender. It is speaking on behalf of them with the MSM.

They are using the argument of the small percentage of them that there are, and how costs won't go up for their "surgery". What they miss out on is how this steam rolls into different bathrooms, living quarters and so on. Plus, if a female, calls herself a male - but fails the male PT test does she fall back on the female PT test? Does she use the male facilities? vice versa for the dudettes...etc.

IMHO, the military is no place for this garbage. It's too PC these days and it WILL affect readiness and effectiveness if it has not already.

Not intentionally but plenty make it through. Also keep in mind that most of the people entering the military are straight out of high school, they haven't exactly grown up all the way yet.

Is the PT for meat popsicles easier or harder than the male test?

You'll never destroy the most powerful military in the history of mankind with that kind of attitude.

Had to look, but it seems still same....i.e. Army 17-21 y/o

                Minimum Requirements:

                Push ups
                M: 42
                F: 19

                Sit ups
                M: 53
F: 53 (this changed since I was in)

                2 Mile Run
                M: 15:54
                F: 18:54

Understand, when a motivated troop you never want to hit the minimums. These scores and points associated with them affect promotion points and other factors of military life. These are just the minimums, but my experience in the military is that equal was not equal and even at tha.....nevermind

Ya, it's quite a bit easier. From a 17-21 y/o dude, you could speed walk the 2 mile time have a sprained wrist and do the push ups and sit ups were also pretty easy to accomplish and vastly exceed the minimum. So, if a female is a male...which standard, which latrine...etc.

The pull up standard is different. I believe females only need to be able to hang from the bars for a set amount of time while makes actually have to be able to do a few reps.

if they are allowed to serve they can then request all the medical shit involved. they come off roster , useless to the military , and we end up paying for it. there are limits to all this "IT" shit .

Ya, looks like it changed this year. F have to do 1, M have to do 4 - minimum. Guess F had to do a "flexed" arm hang for 55 seconds before.

Some of us can remember when they didn't even have women on active duty naval vessels, much less all of this LGBGTQXYZ crap.
