He didn't know about the actual ruling, but just the fact that they would even hear the the case. I knew from the start that he would win it, because of the way it was presented: He was called to serve his president and should not be penalized for it. Rules and laws mean nothing to that bunch. This makes me wonder what you actually have to do to lose the public's trust. Perhaps murder a small child at a speech you are giving?
