  • Modding a Howa 30.06 bolt action

I have a Howa bolt action 30.06 with a cheap BSA scope. It's been sitting is a safe since I haven't had a deer lease for some time so I'm getting the itch to maybe mod it a little. I can't say I'd ever do some long range shooting but other than the scope, is it worth modding?

Or am I better off building modern rifle .308 in an AR-10 platform? I really don't have the need for another bolt action so buying a Remington 700 to mod is not an option.

It will respond to the same stuff any other bolt action does. Bed the action, pillar mount it to the stock, and free float the barrel. Making sure the muzzle crown is not nicked up and correcting it if it is helps to.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.
