Yep, for all the reasons people may or may not like Sherriff Dee Anderson, he gets a thumbs up from me because he is NFA friendly.

His secretary rules, she will take time out and answer any question about the process over the phone and is friendly to boot.

Sucks about the trust route. Good thing I have a suppressor and (Soon to be) Krink SBR under mine. Good enough for me.

Your chief of police, sheriff, state district judges, district attorney, attorney general, supreme court and court of appeals justices, chief of DPS, federal court judges etc can all sign.

Can I file now and transfer it to a trust later?

You are saying to change ownership? It will cost you a $200 stamp and a transfer.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

That would require two stamps... and take two years via paper

Is there a way to check the status of a pending file?

Yep. Just know your SNs and it is a pretty quick process.

This doesn't quite work (at least it didn't for me). I submitted mine online and apparently they don't want to, or can't tell you the status. They just told me 4-5 months from submittal date online.

So, as the e-forms site is now down permanently, I am completely in the dark as to the status of my Form1

The Virginia office, just search nfa branch phone number. Something something 4500.

They will ask the serial number, then the transferor name.
