I think I am gonna go the rope light on a door switch since I have a wall plug inside my safe.

If I had a plug that's would I would have done, that makes it nice.

Sounds like you talked yourself into a new and bigger safe then. "cause I need a power outlet"

If I thought I could get 75% of what I paid for mine, I would be selling it and buying a bigger one already, myself.

I found a power strip with a 8' cord. Drilled a hole through the safe (pain in the ass!!!), cut the cord and ran it through. Sealed the hole with a grommet on the outside and fireblock caulk on the inside.

Cool. I grabbed the 2 light bars and 2 light pucks kits. They all run on the same frequency, so I have all 4 lights in the safe running on one switch. Illumination galore!

                Thanks for the find!

That's cool, didn't know that. I may have to pic those up too.

Any update on the battery usage? Looking for a light set up sans the wires.

I would find a different set up. It goes through batteries quickly if left on the wireless remote frequency. I can switch them on manually, but I'd still rather go with something else.

I've never worried about safe lights but if I did I'd use an LED tent light and Velcro it too the top. Viola. They are cheap and I've had one last two years worth of Boy Scout camping trips on a set of AAs. I'll post up a link to Amazon later.

Batteries last a while. Only thing I've noticed is sometimes the switch doesn't turn them all off at the same time, so I need to visually make sure they're all off before shutting the door.

I run a 300w power supply with about 30 feet of LEDs in my safe, works great.
