You sounds like Bernie Sanders. That resentment that you are feeling is the center of all evil and it's how people get manipulated to support socialism and communism.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

No far from it actually. I support making money, I don't support overzealous margins. That is what creates Bernie Sanders.

You still don't get it. Who gets to decide how much of a margin is excessive? Once you believe that there is such a thing as an excessive margin you have taken the first step towards socialism, heavy government regulation, and communism. Free markets are an absolute and do not need to be monkeyed with.

Edit: If you don't like what the ammo flippers are doing then get out there ahead of them and buy all the ammo and sell it at whatever markup you believe is reasonable. If you're not willing to do that then you have no business complaining.

        • Price Gouging does not create a fair market. Price Gouging creates a bubble.

No one said anything about setting a margin, but one can see that 200% is not healthy for a "fair market."

I'm not saying it's a nice thing to do, but that's the market.

Here's my question. What is someone, youth or adult, hunting right now that they need birdshot? Didn't they have birdshot from fall and even winter for dove/qual/etc.? I always have shells left over after fall dove season. Did you wait until you had 3 shells left in 30.06 to decide to buy more? Do you need self-defense ammo or do you already have some? Do you (or not you) or anyone else complaining about it need the ammo right now for a purpose or is it going to sit on a shelf, in a safe, or in a closet? My guess is all the people crying about high prices and no inventory just want it to store themselves.

FTR, I have a coworker who is a new gun owner as of Dec. He got a G17, and it's the first gun he's ever owned. He needed ammo and could not find any to practice with. I gave him 4 boxes of FMJ for the range. I'm not the guy gouging, but if I needed cash, I absolutely would be.

I've sat on ammo for decades. A few weeks ago I was cleaning out my living room and decided to sell a whole bunch of 9mm ammo. I looked at with other people were getting for it and sold it for the same price. Was I gouging?

              • it's a free market . supply and demand sets the price . ammo is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it . people aren't working because of this covid shit so they will do what ever they can to make money . wish i had bought 50k rounds a year ago to sell today and you can bet your ass it would go to the highest bidder .

Do you really think the people gouging on GunBroker need cash? like, NEED it? I don't know but I would be willing to say they don't, at least the majority don't. Sure its a business to them, it's their business but I don't agree with the manner of it so I won't pay it. That's me. I'm good on mine.

Do you think anyone with a net worth higher than 50 million dollars really "NEEDS" it when we have people that don't have health insurance and our schools are failing? Should we just take all that money that they don't really need and give it to people that we think need it?

WHO said ANYTHING about giving anything to anyone for free? I'm talking about fair market and have been. I'm not talking about charity here.

You said the word "NEED" and I was trying to illustrate that using that word is the absolute Foundation of Communism which is why Karl Marx used it over and over and over in his writings. Once you think that you're the one that gets to decide with other people need you are a dictator.

Yeah as in, "I need cash, they're shutting off my water. I think I'll go buy 8 cases of 9mm and sell it at $2.00/round on Gunbroker and buy the water company." Now don't go taking the last part literally. I figure I'd put that disclaimer on there.

That was not done in the interest of making the car perform better; it was done in the interest of making Mercedes or any other manufacturer more money. Mercedes is even wanting to license your car to you so you don't actually own it once you bought it and they want to be the only ones that can work on it. Tesla is doing that now and if you don't believe me read what happens when people buy a used Tesla. That is their end goal the same way the banks want to make it where we no longer use cash. They just want to continue getting a cut of everything.

Very simple, both statements are absolutely true.

Back in the day Olin Corporation would sell Winchester guns at a loss because they figured any gun they sold meant more ammo sales. Now Mercedes are being peddled as the absolute Pinnacle of technology and class when in reality the quality is the worst it's ever been in the company's history.

                              • I dunno man, sounds like a lot of resentment in that first statement.
