"It is carcinogenic, as well as toxic and requires very special techniques for machining. Investment casting of precision shapes that require little machining is the way to go. Tooling cost it's also incredibly expensive when working with this material."

We found out about it when we first started dropping the Pylons on the Airbus A300-600R's. Pylon-to-Wing mounts were made of that stuff. Had corrosion in the bores. AB gave us limits to how much material could be removed before the part had to be scrapped. The machine Shop spent BIG bucks for the filtration system needed to evacuate the dust/particulates. Ended up replacing them with new components .
Natural law. Sons are put on this earth to trouble their fathers.

The drivers are the most significant performance restriction with modern F1 cars. On fresh tires they can pull 8 g's in turns and can brake so hard it'll pull tears out of your eyes. They don't pull those kinds of forces around the entire track or the whole race so I guess there is some more performance out there but the only way to speed them up considerably will be by making them remote controlled.
