Somewhere in there he found his phone, and gave it along with a few other things to his friends to hang on to for him when they took him to jail. He flat out said "I'm sure that when you look like I do..." He didn't like it, but he wasn't really complaining about it IMO. They played it on the Ticket when I was on my way home today.

"intoxicated man was walking through the complex."

I'm confident if he was raising a big stink the media would've loved that. Maybe not, but it is a simple enough and logical assumption from the way it was phrased. It could also be argued that he had to do something to draw attention to himself. However if that was a white neighborhood....you know how white people can be.

I do concur that you should expect trouble in that situation. My point was that I do not always agree with PI arrests.

I agree with this. Had it been Dirk...I'm sure he'd never been arrested. Stevenson put himself in this position though. I'm sure Dirk would not have.

Then again, the girl who just got dropped off was just moping around too (I know, on a highway not by her choice.)

I know we don't want the police to be taxis, but it would be nice if just taken home or made to call someone...etc.

Edit: ...and to answer your question from my point of view, celebrities should not be treated differently. I feel the above for anyone.

its cause Irving wanted their name in the news, and they wonder why people dont really respect the police. Its crap like this, instead of being a helping hand they put you in jail.

but you still didnt have to arrest him and put him in jail. if he wasn;t arguing with the cops and being understandable then let him sober up at the station.
