No feints, no parrying, just the same mirrored movements by a majority of fighters these days. You know damn well if you tried that bulldozing on me you'd get lit up like a Christmas tree.
And how has that worked for you?
It's not the only game plan that will work, it's just only one you are aware of because you're uneducated/untrained.
Jones is on the large side of his division, so catching him will take another man of similar size and stats, or a lucky punch.
Have him move up 25lbs to HW and then he will be a small man for the divison and you would see him getting rocked by guys like Werdum, Barnett, Mir etc.

It's much smarter than staying on the outside and letting the fighter with more reach tag you at will.
Originally posted by SEB View PostI like the Bulldoze method. Alot of short fighters have to use that method. Turn your head & come in with the over hand right. That method combined with going in on a counter is going to be the only game plan to catch Jones & land that haymaker!
But I do think with a man of Jones size that leg kicks are going to be a big part of the game plan to break Jones down

If Jones's leg were like Corey Hill's then fine I could buy into that arguement. But leg kicks are all about technique and placement. Leg kicks are my thing, trust me on this. lol.
Yes and no. It does take time to recover, but the opponent is usually pretty far away due to the increased reach. It all evens out. Timing and speed is the key on getting in with someone with a longer reach on you. Bulldozing your way in like Adam suggested (the Mike Tyson method is rarely the smart way to go about it. It's easier to do in boxing when you are being hit with some pillows and have a pair of your own to protect yourself with.

Rampage should have listened to his corner & kept working the legs & yes Jones legs are his chink in his game I believe as well as Joe Roagen mentioned during the fight.
