I probably could have worded my post better, but that was my first thought on the subject.

I like this a hell of a lot better than everyone yanking both plates just because of a clerical error. Maybe a little moderation will go a long way versus a radical movement to an extreme case.

isn't there a way to be put on some emailing list to get updates about this??? I though I did that for either the front plate or lane splitting a while back...

How would an officer run info when there aren't any plates?

Two plates are on one extreme. No plates are the exact opposite extreme.
Call me middle ground if you need to. Sounds very logical to me.

Funny, as Texas 82(R) HB 1068 was to repeal it and they voted it down.

Yet, here we are with this omission. We'll see in 2013 if they put the penalty back on the books. I doubt they'll call a special session for this.

A rear plate would do everything he is talking about so those would be pretty dumb reasons to argue for front plates...

I'm betting we will have a special session based off of criminal activity well before anyone acknowledges the loss of revenue.

For instance: You want to steal a car next year? Go right ahead, just take off the plates so officers can't run it. It will really help if you're a minority as any stop could be considered racial profiling.

You want to run drugs across the border from Mexico? Sure, just remove your plates so officers won't know it's an out of country vehicle with a history of criminal activity in the states.
