When wars end, spending decreases. All it will take is a conflict in some other shit hole on the other side of the planet to get things going again.

I think we're going to see a lot more articles that us pro-military people are not going to like to see.

I will say there does not ever seem to be a middle ground with these military budgets. I remember when I was enlisted under Clinton, we made it but were not technically mission capable. Parts were not easy to get or fast...so on and so forth. However, when the purse was loosened, there was not much oversight.

I know it's going to suck for awhile for military personnel/leadership. When they do these things, they do it in a retarded manner. I also suspect they'll reduce/eliminate yearly pay increases as well.

Anyway, I don't think anyone will disagree we need to reduce spending. We KNOW it'll happen to the military, but that is not enough. Others need to tighten up quick too. However, reducing military spending will look good for the election year - even though it is not enough in the grand scheme of things.

Ya, pm it to me if you don't mind. I'd like to avoid going back to 14th if I do end up re-upping. Do you know a guy named Coate? Think he's at MALS

It sucks but it's just a sign of the times. We can't even get paper for our printers in the squadron.

Shitty. The C-130s for my unit would still be there (Marines down the flight line from yall) for now but damn, you guys have more leeway in operating in the US for humanitarian missions than we do. Doesn't the state contribute some of ya'lls budget since ya'll are National Guard units?

Maybe start some letter writing to Austin to try to pick up the slack on the budget. Though it could be that they want to move the planes specifically to get more surveillance aircraft in the inventory.
