Just remember one thing; I seem to remember gun laws in NZ being stricter than the US but not as bad as the UK or Japan. If I recall, Frost, you do not own any guns so it would not be a deal breaker for you, but just keep that in mind as any government who restricts arms ownership too severely usually restricts other aspects of your life as well. Just something to think about.

Again, it's a perception deal and a group of people have sold a bill of goods to the American public that don't represent the truth.Originally posted by Vertnut View PostTribesman don't fuck around. Africans live by a whole different set of rules. I like being at the top of the food chain.
Kind of like Mexico (where my mom lives). Really nice until shit goes bad. Then it goes REALLY bad.

He wouldnt have to. With his disability being tax free, there isnt any reason to renounce anyway. NZ, like most other cointries, is pretty friendly towards who have assets or a steady income that doesnt take away from the citizens. Retirement visas are not all that difficult to come by.Originally posted by Yale View PostYou would be an emigrant from the US, and I doubt you'd have to give your citizenship up to do it. Hold tight, let me google.
Id say do it frost. You only live once.

I was thinkingof saving up 4-500k by working until i am 45 and then going down, renting a place on the beach, buying a boat, and living the good life by just hangin out and taking the very occasional tourist on fishing/sightseeing tours. Only 20 yrs and 4 months to go! :'(Originally posted by kbscobravert View PostWork on the snorkeling boats for tips and actually live a life instead of making a dollar to keep thirty cents.

Uh, I have been to Congo this time of the year. June 1997 and it sucked ass. Hot, humid, dirty, surrounded by Afree-cans.

There are places I would consider moving; Canada is relaxing their gun laws and they recently realized that their government controlled health care system is failing and they are trying to figure out how to go back to the previous setup. They are realizing socialism is awful while we are trying our damndest to get it implemented. Yeah, I would consider Canada but there are other places I would think of first, most likely.

Tribesman don't fuck around. Africans live by a whole different set of rules. I like being at the top of the food chain.Originally posted by Sean88gt View PostProbably is, during their rainy season. My woman just got back from Rwanda where the temp rarely exceeds 85 and even more rare - below 60. Eastern DRC is pretty temperate and far more green than you would think. Plus they are growing at a pretty damn impressive rate (Rwanda was around 6.5% of GDP).
From a lot of discussions I've had with people that have lived over there, the American perception of Africa is pretty damn far off base - then again, it's harder to keep tax payers if they know other places offer opportunities outside of the US.
