If you ever want people on the anti-Union wagon, keep 'em without power for 4 days and tell them it's going to take longer because the union forced non-union help away.

When I was in England I sat at a table with 5 other guys at a bar, all of which were blue collar laborers. Interestingly enough all of them were self employed. Electrician, Carpenter, Plumber, etc. And I talked to them about politics and the atmosphere of England vs. the US. They told me about how ridiculous the unions are in England, and it blew my mind the power and destructiveness they have on business. Unions can be very destructive if left unchecked. I don't want to overreact based on one article, but they can be just as, or even more dangerous than those evil corporations. Someone good to ask about this is Mr. Fiux. He's living in England right now and he's had his share of bad experiences due to unions.

    ...or shot.

You are part of the problem or part of the solution. Lead, follow (Help) or get out of the way. It is that simple.

I'm not a big Christie fan, but good luck Union workers, he hates the shit out of unions, and having them stand in the way of Christie and peoples livelihoods is probably the worst place any union worker wants to be.

That would be the people with no power or water or food. They care. If the union was so great, they'd be done with the repairs by now because every union member in the US would have gotten there and had it up and going.

Last I checked, anything union costs more

LOL at the union building it right. The union would rather build it twice than right. Ever worked for a union shop? You should ask locally based Bell Helicopter why they are not the number 1 helicopter company in the world, ANYMORE.

More than twice as much with union workers and twice as long to get the job done.

Big Labor first, victims last: Non-union utility crews from Ala. spurned by N.J.

Alabama utility crews turned away in New Jersey for #Sandy recovery help because they're nonunion: bit.ly/QY3fTC

@michellemalkin @viewofadam Im from Alabama. We have great utility crews in our state. Too bad politics keeps them from showing NewJersey—

Unions first, hurricane victims later. This blood-boiling report from Alabama’s WAFF 48 News will come as no surprise to those familiar with the Big Labor protection racket.

The hurricane-ravaged east coast has been receiving north Alabama help, but crews from Huntsville Utilities learned they’ll be doing work in Long Island, New York instead of in New Jersey. Crews from Huntsville, as well as Decatur Utilities and Joe Wheeler out of Trinity headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can’t do any work there since they’re not union employees…The crews were told to stand down. In fact, Moore said the crew from Trinity is already headed back home.

It’s almost enough to leave you speechless. Almost:

@viewofadam I'm surprised that there isn't also required validation they are Dems & voting Obama #STUPID #ForcedAcceptance #DestroyUnions—

@viewofadam why would any gov't allow its citizens to suffer longer for labor views? When tornadoes hit us, we were grateful for ALL help!—

@michellemalkin I thought POTUS said no red tape and nonsense!??—

Alabama utility crews drive 900 miles to help restore power to hurricane-ravaged NJ … and get turned away. #smh ow.ly/1Pjtmg—

@ConEdison is it true that utility worker crews from Alabama are being turned away because they are nonunion?—
    Jay Pee (@Jprunge) November 02, 2012

@GovChristie Alabama utility crews turned away because they are non-union? True?—
    AmyMc934 (@midge5x) November 02, 2012

Guess we’ll see if Obama’s “We leave nobody behind” vow has a union label sewn on it.

Working...
