I was referring to OTR jumping on people. You didn't see a lot of Christ yelling "Fag" and starting crap. He did say we would be brother against brother and father against son but no need to be disagreeable about it. I don't argue religion. I don't see the point. I'll state my beliefs but they are my belief and while they fit in the Christian category, they draw from my Southern Baptist upbringing, seminary, reading of the Bible, life experience and exploring other faiths

Good post. Jesus did stand up for his faith and didn't shy away from confrontation when his situation so required. OTRs statements about gays are indeed his alone. Regarding Jews, he' s completely wrong from a Biblical perspective.

We're to set ourselves apart and show the unbelievers how to live, not to chase them away with random rants. How many nutballs on the corner shouting do you think people listen to versus someone sounding reasonable?

Spreading the Gospel is one thing, but making people run the opposite way does absolutely nothing for bringing them closer to God. I try to bring people closer to God with my actions and when I am asked about it, I share my experience.
Most "Christians" just want to shove their beliefs down people's throats.
