Don't get me wrong, I do realize there are problems at multiple levels on this, but he seems to be putting it all off on everything but the teachers. We fixed our problem with public schools by taking our children out of the equation.

As long as teachers are only evaluated on how their students do on a standardized state exam then that is all they will teach. I am thankful that I grew up in a time when teachers actually built their own lesson plans.

Although, I agree with you on a lot of things - to include this - I think the problem IS much bigger than the individual teacher.Originally posted by Denny View PostWow! Sounds like it's everyone's fault BUT the teachers. LMFAO!!!
If you get punished/lesser pay for doing what (you and I think) is right in the class room - or get more pay...etc...etc for doing what your superiors want you to do - I'm going to do what gets me more pay.
Assuming the teachers are actually doing as told, I can dislike it - but can't really hold them responsible for state/federal policies and decisions. It's more our fault at that point.
I may be looking at it wrong, but that's how it appears to me. Once that's fixed, then start nailing lazy/worthless teachers as a primary objective.

Fucking useless apologists. "So sorry you weren't able to blow up more people. Please accept honorable burial. We just need to learn to accept it and move on..."Originally posted by Vertnut View PostHe's in administration with a public school system. What else should we expect?

In Texas we have school boards as I am sure you are aware. With that said and as an administrator I know as all administrators know when it comes to school districts, all people employed by the district work for the tax payers. The truth of the matter is, it is their kids and their money, they guide the process we only advise and implement local policy, as long as no kids are placed in harms way we have to follow the directives of the school board that the local citizens vote into office. The board writes the policies and makes the rules in accordance with the Texas Education Code. The TEA (Texas Education Agency) writes the Texas Education Code and is supervised by a person appointed by the governor to serve as Commissioner of Education currently Michael L. Williams. Now back to local items as school administrators we make recommendations to the school boards, it is at their discretion what happens post recommendation. If you are not satisfied with the direction the school district in your town is going then as a tax payer you have a right to address any concerns in front of the school board in an open forum.

School principals. Not up to date enough to be teachers, but not slimy enough to be full blown politicians.

I hold the family should be burned and then fed to pigs that were loaded onto Tomahawks and fired at Mecca

No, I simply do not agree with you and this is something you either refuse to accept or lack the ability to process. Aristotle is quoted as having argued " it is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." I hold that the family deserved closure, you do not, I accept your opinion, you seem to be unable to accept mine, this is your issue to solve as I have nothing more to say on this topic. I concur with you that I do not feel he should have been buried in the great state of Virginia. I do not agree that he should not be buried, I think the most appropriate place to bury him would have been Chechnya, it seems as though he was greatly influenced by this country so therefore they should carry the burden of his crime and burial place.Originally posted by SS Junk View PostThere's nothing to respect in this conversation. As for Texas Public Schools? Last I heard is that we were #31 out of 50.
Maybe you have some updates on that one.
Either way, look at out public education compared to the rest of the world. Granted, this was from 2010, but maybe you can give us an update on this as well.

Having been a part of Texas law enforcement, I'd say your numbers are high.Originally posted by Pro Trash View PostI am not sure what your concept of the majority is Denny, we have approx. 320,000 teachers and 75,000 peace officers here in the great state of Texas. I would dare say that well over 70% are productive. I know this will not change your opinion in any way. I hold that if you insist on finding the negative qualities in others you will always find it in a small number.
