We've all seen how churches can be used to manipulate people for their own selfish and malicious reasons. But Christ didn't do that. I think it would be great that Fred Phelps be remembered as a man that did more than anyone to advance gay rights. He helped polarize the nation on the issue and helped it become a civil rights issue. Once that happened, there was no turning back. Fred Phelps, through his hate has brilliantly failed.
