    According to that graph, the current trend (starting in 2009) is a closing of a budgetary gap, and a declining deficit. Thanks, Obama!

    From 1900 to 1938, excluding WWI, the federal revenue and spending was less than 9% of GDP even during the depression with FDR's grand work projects and the government was fully funded to operate.

    It is hard to imagine spending all that and still having to borrow another 1/2 trillion for kids and grand kids to repay someday.
