CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -
The Charlottesville Fire Department is investigating an explosion on the Downtown Mall.

The fire chief says there was no fire or smoke from the reported explosion near the Downtown Mall between 3rd street and Water street.

They are currently waiting on a report from Dominion Power.

The runners got lucky on that one. The race started late so they were not where they would have been had it started on time.
