  • Four guards in front of the room where the House Obamacare bill is being kept.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) took to Twitter on Thursday to publicly voice his disapproval that the GOP was keeping its Obamacare repeal legislation out of public view.

Paul’s tweets openly asked what House Republicans were trying to hide, and demanded they release the bill for public viewing immediately.

I have been told that the House Obamacare bill is under lock & key, in a secure location, & not available for me or the public to view.

@RandPaul What is the House leadership trying to hide? My guess is, they are trying to hide their "Obamacare Lite" approach.

@RandPaul Renaming and keeping parts of Obamacare, new entitlements and extending medicaid expansion are not the #FullRepeal we promised

@RandPaul I demand the House release the text of the bill. Every elected official & every American deserve to know what they're trying to do

According to Buzzfeed’s Capitol Hill reporter, the GOP had set four guards where the bill was being kept. Paul is seen asking for a copy of the bill, which a staffer refused to give him.

Morning Consult’s Eli Yokley reported that Paul was refused. He had apparently brought his own copy machine just in case he got his hands on it.

This is just another day in the ongoing battle between Paul and his own party over the method by which Obamacare should be repealed. His suspicions that the GOP will take a lukewarm approach to Obamacare’s repeal stems from a meeting between Republicans about how best to tackle the problem. Paul walked out of the meeting in frustration after too many Republicans suggested keeping parts of Obamacare, such as Medicaid expansion.

Before that, Paul gave a blistering review of the Republican budget that the GOP had been calling a “vehicle to repeal Obamacare.” In his 20-minute presentation, Paul hammered the legislation for adding $10 trillion to our national debt.
