That was a smoking deal! I went back in last night to Longhorn and got a decent offer. They have to order the bike but they didnt hesitate to offer to get it. Im going to try to talk them down a bit or get some incentives thrown in to sweeten the deal and hopefully sign tonight when I go in for my next class.

Hopefully they will work with you. My inlaws have bought 4 bikes from longhorn, and had to pay sticker for each one, but were able to get accessories and gear thrown in for free. Im pretty sure that is how they do it up there.

I had bought mine at North Texas HD in Lewisville. I had gotten a new '08 VRSCDX with filter, exhaust, and tuner already installed, for $18k. They seemed to have the best deal on everything.
One thing I've always noticed about Longhorn is all of their shirts are priced higher than other dealers, and even most their stuff is marked higher than in the HD catalogs.

Get them to throw in the HD sticker for the back window of your truck and and handfull of Tshirts too!

The one I am doing next month is a 2 day (I wonder about your 4 day deal, do they break it up into 4 short days as opposed to two long ones?) and $185. Your paying for it in the sale price of the bike either way, its not like you are getting an extra special class?

Thurs 6-9 Classroom
Fri 6-9 Classroom
Sat 8-5 Classroom/Range
Sun 8-5 Range

Yeah your paying for it with Harleys huge markup either way but your still going to pay harley price whether you take the class or not. Might as well go for it if you planning on a new harley. At least thats how I looked at it. I think I read they include lunch on the weekend days too.

Dunno about a scam, a few of the guys on the harley boards recommended them. All the dealers I looked at offered the refund if you bought with them or, at least Longhorn, would actually pay for the thing for you if you bought the bike before hand instead of the refund.

4 day classes are $295 and some dealers only do 3 day courses and they are $245. Normal non-harley sponsored 2 day courses are $195 so the price is fair I guess.

Im hoping I dont have to go out as far as El Paso to get a deal but if I do I wont have time to fly out and ride back. Schedule is pretty busy the rest of the year.

Barnett HD in El Paso is a high volume dealer that generally has awesome deals.

They have a massive used bike section.

edit* I heard good things about a HD dealer in El Paso that would do a fly and ride deal if you bought from them. I was looking at used bikes they had, seemed reasonable.

LOL, at this point I would welcome MSRP. I dont know why but I was pissed when that guy threw a price at me and admitted he was tacking on $2k because its a new model. The conversation was completely over at that point.

When I bought mine I called all around or went in person and they all wanted MSRP, I called down to Cowboy Harley in Austin and got a fairly good price, but ended up buying it in Atlanta GA.
I called Paris since their add is always "call for price" and their price was MSRP...WTF
