Yep after the chain popped off and broke the water pump off the block, i decided to just get a used motor instead of messing with trying to weld a cast block.

haha, no, i'm air/oil cooled, but it did take out the sprocket cover and a few other odds and ends.

thankfully no casing damage.

Did it break the tabs off the block that the water pump mounts to?

yep, that can cause some gnarley damage. I know. just got mine back up from the exact same thing.
