    LOL, not.

Kumar will be fine. He's a good guy with a good head on his shoulders. His life doesn't suck. His daily is a GT3 and I'm sure he'll have another go fast toy before long.

the shop should be responsible IF its due to faulty installation.

depending on who his insurance provider is he should get back market value for the car with the modifications.

when my 91 mustang was stolen my insurance company gave me market (mid teens) for a fully built car (I had receipts and pics and dyno sheets). I didn't get back what was invested but it was enough to buy a comparable car already built. So if he can afford a car like that and that much money in mods on top of it I'm sure he doesn't have some shitty insurance company that'll bend him over.

LOL no shop should be responsible unless this was the first ever test drive or a tech was driving when it happened.

Holy crap? If DP got paid $80k and the car burned down shortly thereafter, this is going to get ugly. Kumar will most likely only recover the fmv of his car and DP will have to refund the money they were paid or possibly face litigation. This is a really bad situation all around. Glad Kumar is okay and no one else was hurt.
