Yup, I love my rice cooker as well!
I don't use it a whole lot, but it does a great job whenever I do break it out.
    Can't beat $20 either!

I bought this one and use it twice a week to make batches of rice. I haven't used it for steaming anything yet, but soon.

Mine isn't red, but you get the picture.

Just requires a little bit more time/effort(as does most anything good for you).
You can also cook fish and chicken on it, thawed or frozen.
That's awesome! I saw it the last time I was in Bed Bath &Beyond but I wasnt sure if it really worked that well..

    Just cooked these last weekend...

Growing up, we had an empty plate rule. We had to eat it all, no matter what was put on the table, or we got our asses busted. We weren't ever given the option to be picky about what vegetables/food we ate. I didn't like it as a kid, but as an adult, I'm glad they made us eat them. I love most veggies. There are still a couple I don't care for, but it's pretty limited to collard greens, and sauer krat. Just curious.
I guess I don't know "why", but I do know that I don't like the taste of a lot of them and I have texture issues with some things too...

Items I eat: peas, beans, corn, baby spinach, raw carrots, cucumber, pickle, maybe a few more

Items I do not eat: cooked spinach, cooked carrots, asparagus, broccoli, squash, zucchini, onions, red/green/bell/yellow peppers, cauliflower, mushrooms, olives, collard greens, sweet potato, eggplant, brussel sprouts, beets, yams, cabbage, etc

I'm really picky on peas, i really only like the LeSeur brand early peas.

This thread reminds me, i've got some fresh green beans in the fridge, i'll have to blanch then grill tonight to go with my chicken and brown rice

Just about every meal I cook from an omlette to a salad, etc has the same veggie content.

If cooked, peppers (green, red, yellow, orange, jalapeno, cerano, etc)
onions (white, yellow, 1040, purple, green, shallots)
    garlic
mushrooms (mostly button, but I need to get back into branching out my shrooms)

    Raw:
onions, peppers, spinach, banana peppers, pickled jalapenos, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, olives, pickles, carrots, sprouts.

I really try to stay away from starches at this point, although they are probably some of the tastiest.

For me I guess I look for the most bang for the buck. I can eat 5 cups of baby spinach and get 4g Carbs, 4g protein, and 30 calories. It's good solid filler food along with lean protein.
