Godzilla (2014)

I got the coffee table book "Godzilla, The Art of Destruction". Have barely checked it out, but it's pretty badass so far. Lots of behind the scenes stuff.

I'm going with the alien route since Godzilla looked "earthy" and the MUTO's weren't vary Earth-like at all. Smoothe skin, slightly armored, grey, no real eyes (just glowing slits).Originally posted by jluv View PostOr that big bomb at the end woke up even more monsters elsewhere under the sea. If they bring Mothra in (I hope they do), it's as simple as a rich collector having the egg and a couple of broads singing to it.
But...I'll take a good movie with battlin' Kaiju's howerver.

My only thought was why was the military constantly shooting at Godzilla yet weren't too concerned about him swimming between their ships?
C'mon...everybody knows a boat moving at 5-10 knots for 5 minutes is more than ample to get enough safe distance to detonate a several megaton device that make Hiroshima look like a firecracker without hurting SanFran. :P
And...Godzilla II in the works, now:
If I had my $0.02, ancient aliens sent the "parasites" to kill off all the giant Godzilla-sized creatures for their own nefarious reasons, but Godzilla, himself, kicked A back then like he did in the movie and saved Earth. Now, with the "parasites" brought back (in the movie) they called aliens somehow...and in the sequels, the aliens send other monsters to try to eradicate Earth, again.

Spoiler alert Btw am I the only one who thought san Fran should of been a glowing crater? Or at the least full of radioactive shit?

My son told me he saw that. Except he thought it was a cereal box that said mothra.Originally posted by BP View PostSo did anyone else notice the little ant farm looking toy at the former Brody house that said Mothra on it?
I was really hoping for more destruction, Man of Steel style.

Caught this yesterday with my nephews in IMAX 3D. I don't particularly care for 3D but it didn't take away from me enjoying the movie either.
Good flix and I enjoyed it. I thought the story was good and didn't really see anything cheesy about the dialogue and overall I think it was well done. The highlight of the movie for me was seeing the female MOTUS "get it" by Godzilla and hearing my high school freshman nephew saying "YES" while doing a fist pump LOL!

Don't pretend like it wasn't intentional. It's ok that you didn't know better. You're allowed to not know better. Don't be embarrassed.Originally posted by Bputacoma View PostThanks for the reminder Yale. I'll remember the next time i'm typing on a phone while drinking...

You should use the, "'ve" contraction, instead of the word, "of," there, Bputacoma. You're attaching that half of, "have," onto the back of the other word you used. It's an easy mistake to make, if you hear a contraction of, "have," more often than you read it.

The director of this one acknowledged that a lot of 3D movies are blurry, so he claims to have gone out of his way to make sure it wasn't so this time. I agree that 3D is lame for most movies. Honestly, I don't think it added anything to the movie, but it really wasn't a bad thing at all. It wasn't blurry. The fight scenes were very clear and vivid, too. Opposite of the Transformers flicks.Originally posted by Rafa View PostI take it the IMAX version is "only" 3d? I can't stand 3d, but would love to watch these movies on those screens.
