    no, those are a different color wave length and have more ultraviolet light to them which you cant see and it makes them all the more dangerous to your eyesight. Also I am not sure you can push them as hard as the diodes in these lasers.

    You can get the regular maglite non led from home depot for $17 out the door. There may be a mod for the 3 d cell maglites using the regular 32600 non protected cells (they are the same size as a regular D cell.) Thing is those are about $15 each so you might as well buy a nice new maglite.
