Honestly for your first gun I'd pickup a surplusammo.com assembled lower and bolt, and then pickup a DSA upper for $275. Hell, might want to see what their complete guns sell for, I think they sell them. Then pickup an EOTech 512.A65 off craigslist for $300. IF you want to get a rifle which will APPRECIATE in value, then buy a Colt. They are the only rifles that actually hold/increase their value.

Just because a bunch of guys wasted their cash on shit they don't need doesn't mean you should.

For $1100 you can get a Colt 6920 at Bachman.

Consequently they are also pretty much the best-

Hell my spikes tactical lower isn't as nice as my rra.

They will all go bang man. If your dead set on not learning how to build one I'd order a colt for resale value alone.
X2, I really like my .22 ar though haha. I want a slide fire to bang out some cheap fun

Look on a local tx gun site and snag up a colt for around your asking price! I have 4 now, one is a older preban colt sporter, a colt le6450 ar , a custom CMMG, and a Gun smoke lower on a CMMG .22 upper. Ive not shot the old colt but I really like my 6450.

DPMS Oracle is a good AR at an extremely reasonable price.
    $618 shipped from Bud's.

Also they have the Bushmaster Flat top (with cheap red dot) for $699 shipped.

If it's your first AR15 then you should build one IMO, it's going to give you more knowledge about how rifle works and goes together. You can build one yourself that's just as nice as one you'd buy without using inexpensive parts. What is it going to be used for?

Rock river is fine. Besides colts I prefer them over and of the other main stream ar's.

You can build one a lot cheaper.
Again the fit and finish might not be as nice, but it'll work.

I also like the factory 2 stage rra triggers.

    Look at budsgunshop as well.

    Also call Pete at ar15sales.com

    Looking For My First AR-15

I want to purchase my first AR-15 in the next couple of months but don't know much about them. I'd like to spend no more than $1200 for a complete AR. I'm sure I could build one for cheaper but like I mentioned above, I don't know anything about them. I don't want to buy something cheap now & regret it later. What would you guys recommend for my price range? Want it in 5.56/223 caliber.

Is this Rock River any good?
Working...
