Says he will, haven't heard anyone test him yet. Most are going to district judges if they need signatures. I asked at a GOP question function and he said absolutely, but that was followed up by others being probably more pro gun than he is.

That said, we've already got him a couple running mates for this next election cycle.

Any update? Cooke county sheriff said he would no problem but im in Denton county by a few miles. He is making a call tomorrow for me.

Got the chance to meet with the new sheriff elect for a little while today.

Currently he now seems to be floating in the middle on NFA stuff. As a former federal police officer, allowing people to have these items wasnt a main priority. Says he will meet with the current sheriff to get input of why he does this and his procedures and will further look into NFA stuff. Some positives are that he wants to consult the lawyer provided to the S.O. about this stuff and that lawyer is a huge gun nut. He also in the near future would like to have a meeting with dealers and owners to hear all sides and concerns.

Congrats at making a difference even if it is just a small one so far.

I think he needs to meet some people that are just average law abidding Joes that own NFA regulated items legally. Maybe a shoot GTG is in order for him to see that we are not just willy nilly gang bangers but everyday folks just like the ones in his district.

Nobody hates gun violence more than responsible gun owners. Well, and victims.

A few years ago a Captain of the Ennis PD was running for City Marshal (Chief of Police).

He listed each one of his TCLEOSE credits to make it look like he had a bunch of certifications.

He listed about 50+ course titles on his little pre-printed signs to make himself look like a Rhodes scholar.

Hah, funny you mention that. I know a guy who did that, he was was/is running for a Freestone County Canstable. He has nothing going for him except his training classes.
