Do we put armed guards at private run day cares? Who pays for this and where does it stop?

When I was growing up in the 70's there were no guards at these places and we were just fine. We have drugged our kids, exposed our people to media violence, regulated religion, eliminated personal responsibility and call it progress?

    WTF?

I know gun control is not the answer.

Think of this. How many mass shootings were there in the 1800's when everyone was armed?
Matt I would say it stops or at least gets better when gun violence and other gun crimes are prosecuted and when our justice system stops being a joke. Commit a crime, proven guilty, do commensurate time. Stop locking up the weed user and start putting the dealers to death. Prison population would decrease and people would start to act right. Do away with "gun free zones" besides gov buildings. Stop making the gun out to be the problem but the actual violent offender instead.

I didn't necessarily miss it, I was rather thinking out loud.

He also went into many other reasons such as the media glorifying it. I still see the broad point of the speech as giving other reasons for the violence, and pointing out the fact that the media is intentionally targeting guns and absolving all other factors. I don't see where he is stating this is the cause of it. The NRA is offering up other contributing factors. Do violent video games influence people who are mentally ill? Yes, I think it probably does, but the fact is no one really knows. But what we do know is guns do not cause these problems, many factors do.

    Absurd.
There exists in this country a callous, corrupt and corrupting shadow industry that sells, and sows, violence against its own people.

Through vicious, violent video games with names like Bulletstorm, Grand Theft Auto, Mortal Kombat and Splatterhouse. And here's one: it's called Kindergarten Killers. It's been online for 10 years. How come my research department could find it and all of yours either couldn't or didn't want anyone to know you had found it?

Then there's the blood-soaked slasher films like "American Psycho" and "Natural Born Killers" that are aired like propaganda loops on "Splatterdays" and every day, and a thousand music videos that portray life as a joke and murder as a way of life. And then they have the nerve to call it "entertainment."

But is that what it really is? Isn't fantasizing about killing people as a way to get your kicks really the filthiest form of pornography?

But there is no reason to not have armed security at every school in the nation.
I feel what you're saying, but his intention is to make it evident that placing the sole blame guns is absurd, and cited many other reasons as well.

Hah, quite the response time on removing the protestor. If it takes the security guys 30 seconds to respond to and remove a protestor interrupting a press conference, I want him to be in charge of the training program!

I finally joined the NRA this morning. If anyone wants to be a life member for $300, several people on the M4Carbine forum are offering sponsorships.

I have the violence/blood turned down and the language set to Spanish, Russian, etc. I do not let him brag about shooting/killing another person and I remind him this is all "make believe" and am VERY proactive about our home's "control laws". Including, how to handle a gun, what to do if he sees a gun just laying around, etc etc.
That is called being a parent, pat yourself on the back because what you just posted is what all parents should be doing
