Any experience with an AR-7?

I remember buying one in my late teens from Wal-Mart for $80. The design has been owned by quite a few companies over the years and the quality is all over the map. Some work but many do not.

I have never shot one but always thought they were kind of neat. I would rather have a 10/22 takedown, though.

I got this one as a gift. It is still new in the box and doesn't look like it was ever fired.

My dad has a couple. I haven't messed with one since I was a kid, probably 20 years or so. Quick and easy to assemble, floats, always fired from what I remember.

They had a couple used on the rack at Cabelas a couple days ago. Didn't look at them so don't know the price.

I know they made 25 shot magazines for them and made a pistol variant with shorter barrels and grip. Anyone ever played with them? I haven't started searching yet.
