Sparrow - easiest to clean and bullet proof. Also good for full auto, .22mag, and 5.7x28mmOriginally posted by AnthonyS View PostSo CJ given your advice if I wanted 3 cans: 22 LR, 308 and 45ACP which cans specifically should I consider?
I'd want to use them on a 1: 10/22 and 22 pistol (don't have one yet buckmark or 22/45 soon though), 2: M1A and ARs (300blk, 6.8, and 5.56), and 3: pistols 1911s and some Sigs.
I definitely want to suppress the 10/22 first. It is the family favorite to shoot for a variety of reasons. I just put the new Nikon 2-7 rimfire on it tonight with BDC. Not the best scope in the world but pretty decent for a 10/22. My ARs and M1A have a variety of Leupolds and I'm going to get a few PA and Burris red dots. I have a Burris fastfire which will likely go on one of my 1911s for grins, probably a rock island range toy.
I honestly pick up more from the threads on the DFW armory than just about all the other internet resources put together. At least you get the info with far less BS and stupid ideas. Thanks guys.
.308 can I'd go for the SAS Resistor - semi auto designed, titanium, light, and reasonable (~$1000), and for .45 I'd get the Octane 45 HD. Serviceable, super strong.

Andrew Atwell is where I send my barrels. He charges I believe $70 to thread a barrel. It depends on what you're looking for. The YHM Ti-Phantom is a good can. I personally have an SAS Arbiter (www.suppressedarmament.com) which is reasonable on price, they make a few other titanium cans now, some specifically for semi auto .308's like the Resistor. They are light, inexpensive, and they are accurate. Downside is the mounts are $135/ea.Originally posted by Chili View PostAny additional brand / store recommendations?
Same for getting barrels threaded? I know I saw some in another thread.. But figured I would ask again since I know several in this thread have owned various.

I'd also check with Chris(Phaux/Campbell defense), he has a wealth of knowledge with these cans. He took care of me on the 2 that I was looking for.

I live near the Fort Worth location. Their private lanes are awesome.Originally posted by Chili View PostThat's what I was worried about as far as using the same for rifle and pistol. You working there or just suggesting to meet up? We just went to the GP location (Nick's old place) last weekend.. I like that they have the private "suites" that allow rapid fire. Slow shooting bores me quickly.

I've got an lr308 with some upgrades and a viper vortex pst ffp I'll sell for you for a good price.Originally posted by Chili View PostGot your PM CJ, will respond when a little more clear headed.
Personally, I am getting a .308 AR platform (for longer range stuff, probably 20" barrel, possibly for game) and a .223 Tavor (16.5"). Leah will have a .223 AR (16.5"). I am most interested in a can for the .223's for pigs. Lots of them on the lease. If I can use the same can for plinking .22 pistol on the lease without frightening pigs or game, good deal. If not, no biggie.
So I will have a .308 and .223 (probably 2), so I guess that would be priority. The .22 idea was just something to play with during the day in between hunting.

Sparrow for .22lr
Gemtech G5 or Saker for the Tavor.
Come to ShootSmart in Fort Worth and I will let you shoot my G5 and a 22lr can.

Any additional brand / store recommendations?Originally posted by CJ View PostWell in that case, I would buy a .30 cal suppressor, preferably a titanium can to save weight. It will suppress both of your rifles.

I went and handled one today at Fort Worth Gun. If they were not $200 higher than everyone else ($1049) I might had bought it.Originally posted by NoClassic View PostHave any of you guys shot the new 762-SD? I know they are heavy and long, but the price seems hard to beat for something with a full inconel baffle stack. Their current rebate also helps offset the high cost of the AAC QD stuff.
