Damn nice axis! We have had better luck in the evenings. They seemed to be flying in larger groups in the evening rather than 2's and 3's in the morning.

Our group cleaned up in Del Rio. Picked up a limit each day and added some Collarded Doves.
Shot 22 Teal as well.
Funky Axis deer

Picked up a few birds last night outside of Terrell. Going out again in Van, TX this weekend. We have a big bird hunt coming up in Del Rio the following weekend, they are covered in white wings now so hopefully they stick around

Thank you Denny for hosting the pic for me.
I have eaten a feral cat before and liked it; pigeons from anywhere taste a whole lot better.
Most of the time I use my hands or a Red Baron tuff duty net. I have also used a laundry hamper, ruler, 15 ft length of para cord, and some bird seed.

The battery mojos work better if you mix in some wind doves and static decoys.

aaaanyway.....
For those that hunted this morning, how did you do? Were your mojos effective? Something I noticed this morning (last year too) is that the doves seem to not give two shits about the decoys. I have three of the battery powered mojos and they don't bother with them. I've tried facing them into the sun, facing them away from me, even went out later in the morning and faced them in the direction they seemed to be flying...nothing.
Actually I take that back, one was attracted to them but it was a young bird.
I ended up with 6 in the bag, couldn't find one, and should've hit another 3-4

I am intimately familiar with who owns what in that part of town. If you want to discuss who owns what in the area please start another thread.
