You are lucky as hell, but I'm not gonna rag on you. I did some stupid shit when I was younger involving working under cars.

ALWAYS ALWAYS use jack stands and then once you have the car up in the air, I always go around it pushing on it, trying to knock it off the stands, not literally but hard enough to where if it doesnt fall from that, I know it would take a pretty good movement to get it to fall with me under it.

Even then I dont feel completely safe, it's always on my mind.

I wanted to finish the job and he said for me to get after it. My whole family was scared and in shock. They were out eating and getting the "my car fell on me" phone call wasn't something they took lightly.

I told them I was fine it just hurt.
Hadn't had coffee; misread. I thought you meant your dad saw your brother w/ the jackstands then told you to just do the job anyway.

In that case, punch yourself in the mouth

Shit happens. Hell, I got gasoline in my ear and eyes once while under a car. But don't let yourself get killed because a 4 yr old's powerwheels needs a roto/balance.

People give me the "you're a pussy" look when I use jack stands, and try to backup the jack stands with others if possible. At a minimum I also put a jack or two for backups to the jack stands. All those devices, jack stands, jacks, blocks of wood or concrete can fail. It's better safe then sorry.

Glad your okay and it's amazing what the human body can endure sometimes.

When I was like 9 or so I was helping my old man with a tranny on a 57 Chevy. It was up on 4 cinder blocks and I was the only one left under the car working on the driveshafts when we heard the popping. As soon as I rolled out the blocks popped and dropped the car

I was taking the leaf springs off my 57 Bel-Air and everything let loose. Luckily I had a jackstand under it. The gas tank ended up about 1/4 of an inch from smashing in my face. Part of the car hit my shoulder, but didn't do too much damage. I got out fro under it and left it sitting as it lay for two weeks before I touched it again. Scared the living shit out of me. If that jackstand hadn't been there I would have been working on bringing flattops back into style. Moral of the story: always use solid safety measures when working under a car. Glad you're mostly okay.

The blocks almost killed me and saved my life.
Yeah I hear ya. I hate crawling under cars being 6' 4"... no matter how high it's lifted off ground lol. One thing I've learned in aviation, "workarounds" can be the end of you (or others lol).

As much as people talk shit on here, there are plenty of folks willing to help. Just ax somebody!

4x4 mod is a great thing to have. Haha

I was more so happy about it weighing 3000lbs at most, I dont think I'd be here today if it were a heavier car.

That's what I did afterwards yesterday, and then I finished doing what I was doing.

Maybe you should replace the coupe with said Honda. Just spitballin' here.

Well, I hope you are going to be smart enough from now on to use something better than some God damn blocks to put your wheels on.
If there is one thing I do, it's learn from mistakes.

I don't think I'll ever Replace my car, I enjoy it too much just need to respect it and take better precautions.

I mean, seriously. Throw those ramps away, they are dangerous as shit.

You're only alive because you were skinny enough to not be immobilized by the car coming down on you. Have a little respect when dealing with 3000lbs of machinery.
