I mean, seriously. Throw those ramps away, they are dangerous as shit.

You're only alive because you were skinny enough to not be immobilized by the car coming down on you. Have a little respect when dealing with 3000lbs of machinery.
    I agree.

Only had 1 scary incident in 20+ years of turning wrenches. Happened about 2 years ago lowering a POS off the lift. Moving one of the lift pad extensions out the car rolled forward pinning my left arm between it and the extension, it was either the jacket i was wearing or the arm so i gladly ripped the shit out of the jacket to get it out.
I am in a habit of either having jack stands under the car or it safely sitting on the lift safety locks before i will get under it.

i work alone so i have to be careful. first thing is screw jack stands unless the are big 3 ton . small tube pos will get you killed . i use old 10 in wheels to set the tires in. no way in hell it can roll out. i also make sure there is something fatter than me under there. i have a large cedar block but anything is better than nothing. glad your ok but take better precautions next time.

I've done this several times and never had any issues, the blocks are pretty big and ive always used ramps to lift the front up. I see how it was stupid, and if I had used stands to begin with, this wouldn't have happened.

I wouldn't say I'm stupid because I'm still alive, I had a level enough head to do what it took to survive, sadly there are people that do not have the ability to do that.

My brother was playing the jackstands (taking the wheels off his power wheels) so I just left them be and went about my own ways. Never again, not a corner worth cutting.

Dad told me to finish the job and not whine. So we secured it back in the air and finished taking the driveshaft out and called it a day.

This has always been a fear of mine, and well I'm even more scared of it now.
I had a friend killed years ago when he only used a jack to get under his car. I am sure it was for something simple, not needing jack stands.
