His enlarged heart is probably caused because of the Arteriosclerotic heart disease, but again I'm not a doctor, this is just based on reading about both.

There are many causes of an enlarged heart, like:
    High blood pressure.
    Heart valve disease.
Disease of the heart muscle (cardiomyopathy).
    Heart attack.
A heart condition you're born with (congenital heart defect).
    Abnormal heartbeat (arrhythmia).
High blood pressure in the artery connecting your heart and lungs (pulmonary hypertension).
Low red blood cell count (anemia).
    Thyroid disorders.
Excessive iron in the body (hemochromatosis).
Rare diseases that can affect your heart, such as amyloidosis.

Aaron, the enlarged heart did not kill him, Arteriosclerotic Heart Disease did.

Basically it is the build up inside the coronary arteries of cholesterol, fatty acids calcium, tissue and cells, which is normally referred to as plaque.

So more than likely poor diet killed him, rather than steroid use.

He was a 58 year old ex-pro wrestler who had a heart attack, and when over 600,000 people a year die from heart disease, i have a problem with the "steroids killed him" mentality. Maybe the saturated fats from the slim jims is responsible. It's just retarded
Heart disease is a catch all, I'd be willing to bet that enlarged hearts aren't but a small fraction of those deaths.

I'd say there is a 90% chance that at some time in his life he was shooting the juice for an extended period.

Given his career path, size, and enlarged heart, it's not a far stretch to assume that Macho Man has done more than his fair share of anabolics. So he didn't openly admit to using an illicit substance(s), that's no cause to believe that he didn't.

I would find it a higly unlikely coincidence that his enlarged heart has nothing to do with heavy steroid use.

Without specific proof to the contrary, it is nothing more than an assumption on my part, but IMO the writing is on the wall. If a pack-a-day smoker gets cancer in their 50's, are you going to tell me that you would need to see an autopsy report before believing that the cigarettes were the cause?
Actually, yes I would, as many different carcinogens are responsible for cancer. And there are many different kinds of cancer.

I agree with you that steroids can be used safely, and not abused. I don't think anyone in the 80's knowingly "abused" steroids, they just didn't know all the long term effects or how to keep all hormones in balance. For that matter we still don't because of government restrictions on testing them.
