I've had the same cell phone number for 13 years. Obviously I'm not changing it for an ex, but I know how to tell someone to stop calling, or block their number.

If she really wanted her ex to stop calling, she'd find a way to make it happen without you having to get involved.

I've dealt with this a couple of times, and usually if they aren't willing to change their number or block the ex's, it's because he is and always will be a backup plan.

I'm repeating some of what has been said, but this ex wouldn't keep sending 10 texts/week 3+ months from when they broke up if she wasn't throwing him a bone or stringing him along somehow. She is keeping him as a back-up if she decides to can the OP and get back with her ex. Otherwise, she would have made it clear enough to the ex to stop texting/calling her. The guy has to have at least SOME pride and he wouldn't keep begging if there wasn't a reason.

Every time I've had a new girlfriend that still gets regular texts from the ex, there was a 50/50 chance she was still getting sex from the ex. I'm 25 and she's 23. It's not a deranged ex-husband/half a family mix up, he's just not over it.

To the OP, SHE needs to handle this. No matter what the current bf says, he'll continue to try and sneak a text in here and there especially if she's reciprocating. If she genuinely wants him to quit, SHE needs to make it very clear that he should stop. If he continues after that, then you can whip his ass.
