I personally would not use e-bay - I would not want any type of record of the sale.

I think you are more than entitled to recoup your losses, plus a little extra for your time and effort. If they are worth far above and beyond, you should sell the most common items to get your cash back, and then ask where they want the rest sent, minus shipping costs.

Or - ask them to sign something stating any property left in your possession is yours to do with as you please...

I definitely do NOT want to be in possession of stolen property. Is there a way I can search these to see if they're indeed stolen? I'd give them back in a NEW YORK minute if there was a way to positively match them to a previous owner.

If they were in a professionally graded case, they have serial numbers, but it sounds like more of a proof set. I seriously doubt there can be a trace.

Kim, going off of what you've said about the sis and her S.O., I would suggest that there's a strong possibility that this collection might be hot, especially if they had to "break into the plastic" to gain access to them.

Just suggesting you use caution when putting them up for sale.
Also, Denny is 100% correct, on ebaying them.

It all LOOKS interesting, but I'm clueless on this stuff. It was all in real hard plastic casing protecting it all... but the casing was busted up pretty bad (where they obviously tried to get into it at some point) so I carefully cut the rest away and put them all together in a safe place.

As soon as he gets here I'll get started on the list. Denny I'm certainly going to ask for your input on this and I appreciate your offer to help.
