Or it could have been his house and he was visiting someone else. As our resident police tend to say, we don't have the whole story, now do we?
Why do I own a firearm? Because I have a constitutional right to do so. Who are you to take my right from me? I carry daily and haven't shot anyone in 7 years. I can assure you, this second grader is FAR more qualified with a stick of dynamite than you are.
You even admit that my reading is correct. You would be quite justified in shooting me were I doing that. And we have his account, not the other individuals. I see a lot of personal attack at me for my state of mind yet nothing saying my interpretation is wrong. Tell me, what do you have against me? Do you hate the mentally disabled or just me?

Don't ride where you are not supposed to ride.............................................. .................................................. ....................... problem solved.Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostThis reminds me of that story from Houston where some people were riding dirt bikes by some lake or river and some meth head white trash fuckwads thought "they were ZOMG trespassin' on mah properties!" and got a shotgun and started firing off a bunch of buck shot at the people.
They ended up hitting some ten year old in the head with the shotgun, it killed him. They got life in prison.

Yet again you've proven your inability to read and comprehend what people are saying. He was in the yard for 75', then 250 past the entry point (175 feet down the road) some NEIGHBOR fromOriginally posted by Forever_frost View PostI don't hide behind it. I tend to enjoy the heightened sense of awareness. He entered onto my property for reasons I did not know. When I tried to inform him of his trespass, he took off and flipped me off. Odds are, according to my train of thought, he was scouting my property looking for something worth stealing. He continued onto the property, according to him for 250 feet. That's quite a distance for someone to knowingly trespass. Who are you to say what he was or was not hurting. I have a right to defend my property, myself and my family.
And nothing I've said is stupid or against my reading of the law. Would you enjoy me taking my 4x4 through your yard and tearing it up a bit?
Tried to stop him, then threw a rock at him when he didn't stop. If someone is willing to jump in front of a moving vehicle, I'm not stopping either. Obviously that is one crazy SOB, and I don't feel like dealing with it.Originally posted by mikecHe was three houses down dude. A neighbors yard. A neighbor he probably doesn't even know as it looked like a weekend lake house...
Your thought processes have already been proven suspect because of your PTSD, you have said yourself that you are incapable of controlling yourself. Given what you've said, and your mental state, why do you own a gun? That situation sounds like giving a second grader a lit stick of dynamite.
While you are correct, nothing you said is against your reading of the law, but I'd be willing to bet that if a similar situation happened and you decided to plug someone, you're going to jail. It's not how you interpret the law, but how judges/lawyers/jury interpret it. And if you were to take your 4x4 through my yard, according to what you posted I would be justified in shooting you, read the criminal mischief part. Riding a dirt bike at walking speed isn't tearing up anything.

Reading what is posted above, I'm sure their entire defense revolved around their definition of the word "reasonable".Originally posted by Silverback View PostBut if they have PTSD and think they were right, how did they go to jailz?

Sure, it sucks what happened to you, I too appreciate your service, and your sacrifice. But you CONTINUALLY spout off stupid shit. This is one of them. Did you not read the section of the law you posted? Merely trespassing is not justification for shooting someone, and you will go to jail if you do. Say he stopped and picked something up that belonged to you, then the argument could be made, but if he's riding through at walking speed you have no right to shoot him.
78X, the same goes for you.
Did he make a wise decision? No. But to say that someone deserves to be shot for riding a dirt bike through a yard, not hurting anything, not stealing your property, and not being a general nuisance is beyond ridiculous. Quit being so stupid people.
Mike, ya fucked up by going into the yard. But a baseball bat to that dudes windshield would have served him well.

After re-reading the original post, I figured out that the trailer park cavalier guy was just pissed about the 250' measuring tape Mike was dragging behind him.Originally posted by Nash B. View Post4 mph? Are you sure it wasn't 3 or 5?

Everyone around my farm knows the consequences of coming here. I value my privacy and my PTSD amplifies it. I want to be left alone and am willing to use everything available to me up to the letter of the law.
I am not a good guy. I've killed others and because of that, I do not consider myself good. I have my own code but that code says you come here uninvited, you get a warning. He chased you down. I won't.

Sounds like the dude tried to talk to you (rightfully so) and you fled.
He behaved badly, but so did you. You shouldn't be riding motorcycles on other peoples' property. Even at 20' and 2 MPH, those are excuses.
This was a reaction to your action, take some personal responsibility.
