On a side note, why can't organs be sold?

    So retarded.
Strangely enough, the cautionary note came from my grandmother. When she took me to get my license, I was going to check the box, but she told me not to. She was a nurse, house supervisor for the ICU, at the time.

I'm in no way opposed to donation, and I don't really care what happens to my corpse, I just don't want it listed on my license.

Until you've had a friend or family member saved by a donation you might not understand. I'm a donor, once I'm dead my body is useless to me, but it can save other peoples lives.

I became a donor after my Father received a heart transplant. I figure if someone can save my Father's life, I can return the favor.

I am O negative, so slightly less sought after, but they still want my blood. Glad I am not the only paranoid one.

I look at it as how we make laws that cater to lowest common denominator. Just do what you can to do the right things, and let let nature take care of everything else. I'd be more worried about someone who w=did need it and would appreciate it with a family not getting it, then some asshole not being able to waste it away.
For a family member I would have no problem at all donating. And when I say family, that doesn't automatically include all blood relatives, nor does it exclude non blood.

    Yes I'm a donor
Why you gotta be Debbie Downer?

I became a registered donor when I realized that I have (extended) family members desperately waiting on transplants. The lists are long and there really are not enough organs to go around.

At the end of the day you cannot worry about other people not doing the right thing, eg. abusing their new organs. Just concern yourself with your end of the bargain. This holds true for all things in life.
