Yes. My dad was a heart recipient, although he died 3 yrs later the donor gave us 3 yrs we didn't have. and he took care of himself and his new heart. Don't think the way you do......just giving the opportunity for someone to live longer justifies being a donor. THanks for being a donor.

I've already donated a kidney to my sister, which has allowed her to live a more full life(and maybe just live, period, as she was headed seriously downhill)for the last 7 years. Not only was it life changing for her, but it changed my perspective on quite a few things. There are always bad apples out there. I look at it as how we make laws that cater to lowest common denominator. Just do what you can to do the right things, and let let nature take care of everything else. I'd be more worried about someone who w=did need it and would appreciate it with a family not getting it, then some asshole not being able to waste it away.

Yes. My dad had a liver transplant that had complications but allowed him to live another 2 years. He passed away the morning after his second transplant due to complications.

This is my back of my mind fear as well. It's probably stupid an unfounded, but I'm AB-positive. If they salivate like they do over my plasma, WTF would they do if they knew going in that my heart was up for grabs?

Yes. There is always going to be the chance your organs go to a bad apple but not donating means there is zero chance of my organs giving a young child or just general good person a chance at many more years of a good life.

Yes, I am. I have been on the transplant floor a few times and I have seen some real sketchy people that make me wonder, but then I just have to turn back to my focus. My Mom. If everyone judged off of a bad apple here and there she would never have a chance. We've been waiting 6 years now, but I know it's just not her time so we will continue waiting.
