You really don't know me so your points kind of don't stand up. I didn't imply you were a guy. I said to get off me, not that you had said appendage yourself. (Edit, I did call you son. Instead of seeing it as a bit of fucking with you, you saw it as addressing you as a male. Apologies for that)
2. My agenda to prove every move by law enforcement, government and corporations is a violation of the 10th? Only when they are actually violating one of the amendments and as written, the author was saying the officers were violating several.
3. Fear mongering? Not even close. And I do make a difference as I'm not limited to only this here nifty box.
4. And I didn't turn a blind eye to other sources, that was the source I saw, I posted it and went to enjoy family time. I do pop in to argue the original article and when I'm shown additional details, I admit when I'm wrong. If you'll notice I said I was basing the thread off the initial report which made no mention of crews.
5. You've made a lot of wrong assumptions about me, have decided I'm anti government/police/corporations and are pretty sure that I'm not actually doing something to make a difference.
Those that know me here know what I do to make a difference but that's okay. Evidently you're a chick and I won't hold this emotional attack against you. It happens.

2) http://www2.turnto10.com/news/2011/d...rly-ar-871189/ In this link, you will find a video that goes into further detail and shows state troopers, with a locksmith, AND A TECHNICIAN. It also shows a meter IN A HOUSE.
3) I'm not a dude, so your failed attempt at condescension further shows that you don't pay attention to anything outside of your agenda to prove that every move by any member of law enforcement, government, and large corporations is some sort of violation of the first 10 Amendments.
4) You're so blinded by your own fear mongering that you can't really make an objective opinion based on information from multiple sources. That's sad because you're an impassioned man that could really make a difference--if you could separate fact from your knee-jerk response.
5) I'm not going to apologize for your error in comprehension. There is ONE badly written article, omitting a VERY importance sentence, that you're clinging to. There are several other articles and newscasts that do not omit that sentence, but you choose to turn a blind eye to them.

With the newest alteration of the article, seems the gas guys went in. My problem was if the police went in without the owner's permission using locksmiths.

Guest repliedOriginally posted by Forever_frost View PostYep, I caught that. If you will look 4 sentences up, you'll see where it said police and locksmiths. It never said anything about a crew going with said police.
So the gas companies are training and certifying officers to handle this type of thing and unleashing them in the middle of an emergency? Good to know. Sometimes writers suck and you have to read more than just one sentence in an article to understand what is going on. I guess if you just take everything at 100% face value, that is what you would get from it.

WESTERLY, R.I. (WPRI/AP) - National Grid says crews are going to door-to-door in Westerly to close off the natural gas meters of 1,600 customers as it works on a distribution problem.
Utility spokesman David Graves says crews worked through the night and had secured about 800 meters by about 7 a.m., and the company might be able to start restoring service Thursday night, with the problem solved by Saturday.
Main Street and Canal Street are among the areas affected. Not only are those streets filled with homeowners, but businesses are also impacted by the issue.
"It’s going to be devastating to be without heat or power for this holiday season. It’s our crunch, time," said Molly Silva, a business owner.
If no one is home at the time, police officers along with a locksmith are entering homes to shut the valves off.
"Thank God no snow, no frost, no freezing temperatures yet. We just hope for the best. Hopefully we can get some things going for Christmas. I have a meal to prepare, hopefully we are good to go by then," said Westerly resident Mallory Carpenter.
After National Grid has checked each affected home, and the problem has been resolved, they will return to each home and business to turn the meters back on.

WESTERLY, R.I. -- About 1,600 natural gas customers, possibly more, will be without gas for at least a couple of days while crews, accompanied by police and locksmiths, shut off every meter, according to National Grid.
Reports of extremely low pressure started Wednesday morning, said National Grid spokesman David Graves. The affected area is defined by Canal and Main streets, Wells and Oak streets, he said.
Crews plan to knock on doors throughout the night to warn customers that their meters must be turned off. If no one is inside, police and a locksmith will help technicians get inside.
Crews will have to return later to relight pilot lights
Westerly residents without gas are asked to report it by calling (800) 870-1664.
An earlier version of this item contained a wrong phone number.
Do you understand, yet, that the police are there to assure that the CREWS made up of GAS COMPANY TECHNICIANS don't fuck with anyone's shit, or that a homeowner that MAY have slept through the knocking, doesn't think that someone is unlawfully breaking into their house and tries killing a....wait for it... Technician?

That's not saying those persons wouldn't be marked for future scrutiny, though. It would suck, but they AGREED to the terms that the house could be entered at any time. And well, they should be a little smarter with their illegal vices, given the fact that they knowingly signed a statement agreeing to those terms!
The violation of rights statement was pointed to Frost. I can't multi-quote in tapatalk.
